STEP 6: START A RETAILER PROGRAM

The retailer program involves getting local retailers, including home and garden centers, nurseries, grocery stores and video stores, to participate in FireFree by displaying the point-of-purchase displays containing free brochures, and in the case of video stores, making the FireFree video available to customers as a free rental. Focus on local retailers that are high-traffic areas in the community.

Another way to distribute FireFree information is through local libraries, fire stations, insurance offices, schools and any other highly visible location. In Deschutes County, the library system not only displayed the point-of-purchase, but also offered to make the video available for check-out.

Think strategically when distributing the point-of-purchase displays, brochures and videos. The more residents who see them, the better!
