Coloring Contest Winners
In the 2009 issue of Beyond the Flames Magazine, FireFree sponsored a childrens coloring contest. Children were asked to draw a picture that represented their answers to one of the following questions:
1. What can you and your family do to protect your home from a wildfire?
2. Why should people prevent wildfires?
3. How can your family put out a campfire safely?
Many kids responded with some amazing drawings. With the help of the Central Oregon Fire Prevention Co-op, three Grand Prize winners were selected along with First and Second Place winners. The following three fantastic renditions will be used around the county to promote awareness of how susceptible we are to wildfire and remind residents that they can help prevent catastrophic losses from wildfire.
Grand Prize Age 6 and Under: Maxwell L. Age 6
Grand Prize Age 7-9: Savannah R. Age 9
Grand Prize Age 10-12: Hailey B. Age 12
